Refund & Exchange Policy


Fall 2009 Textbook Refund Dates

Fall textbooks rented or purchased after June 1st must be returned, with receipt, in the condition that they were purchased, by the last day of the second week of classes to be eligible for a full refund.

Textbook sales are final after the second week of classes. Used books cannot be returned after that date. New books can be returned with a Drop/Add slip with proper signature for a 50% refund during the third week, and a 25% refund during the fourth week. After this time, there will be no refund on any books.

Textbooks purchased during the semester must be returned within three business days to be eligible for refund.


Digital Textbooks

eBooks are currently unavailable for purchase.

Digital textbooks (eBooks) can be purchased in store or online. A non-activated eBook must be returned, with receipt, no later than the textbook refund dates listed above.  Once an eBook has been activated at DigitalTextbooks.com it is no longer returnable.  For a refund on a non-activated eBook purchased online, please call our textbook department at (812) 888-5995.

Rented Textbooks

In order to receive a refund for a rented textbook, they must be presented with receipt by the dates listed above.


Merchandise

All merchandise items must be returned within 30 days with receipt to receive refund. Clothing items must be un-worn and un-washed, with all original tags.

All Other Purchased Items

All other items must be returned in original, resalable condition within one week of purchase. Any books or packages that are plastic wrapped cannot be returned if they have been opened.

Returning Rented Textbooks

Rented textbooks are to be returned to the bookstore by the last day of final exams in the semester that they were rented. Summer rentals are due back before the last day of class of Summer II.

Refunding Web & Phone Orders

Textbooks (new, used, digital, and rental) must be returned by the due dates above to receive a refund. Returns may be exchanged or refunded in person at our store. Orders can also be returned by mail to the address below. When shipping your return, please include a copy of the packing list. Please call (812) 888-5995 or email rthacker@vinu.edu for assistance.

Textbook Shipping Options:

Pick Up: Orders can be picked up during our regular business hours.
UPS Ground: $11 + $1 for each additional book. 2 - 7 days to the lower 48 states.
UPS 2nd Day Air: $31 + $1 for each additional book. Guaranteed to arrive within 2 days to any domestic location.
International: Priced on a situational basis. Please call or email for quote.
Orders to P.O. Boxes and APO/FPO military addresses will be shipped via United States Postal Service.

Please allow 1 - 3 days for order processing.

Merchandise Shipping Options:

Pick Up: Orders can be picked up during our regular business hours.
UPS Ground: Prices vary, and are located on the merchandise item's description page. 2 - 7 days to the lower 48 states.
UPS 2nd Day Air: Add $10 to the Ground shipping price.
International: Priced on a situational basis. Please call or email for quote.

International Taxes, Duties, & Customs Fees

All applicable duties, taxes, and/or brokerage fees will be charged by USPS, UPS, or it's local country affiliates to the recipient C.O.D. in the local currency at the time of delivery.

All taxes, duties and customs fees are the responsibility of the customer. Tax and duty amount is presented during delivery, not during checkout. Your local post office or carrier can give you information on the methods of payment accepted for the duties, taxes, and other fees collected upon delivery.
